This policy explains what information SheriffScout ("SheriffScout," "we," "us") collects when you visit this website or use the SheriffScout app, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address and sign-in details when you create an account.
• Subscription information. Your plan, selected counties and billing status. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by us.
• Content you create. Smart Lists, watchlists, notes, comments, checklists, bid scenarios and Scout AI conversations.
• Usage information. Pages viewed, features used, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
• Messages. Anything you send us by email or through our contact options.

Property and public record information

SheriffScout displays information about properties scheduled for sheriff sale, drawn from notices published by county sheriff's offices and from third-party data providers, including owner contact information. This information relates to properties and the parties to foreclosure cases, not to SheriffScout users. If you believe information about you is inaccurate, contact us at support@sheriffscout.com.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain and improve SheriffScout, including alerts and digests you request.
• To manage your account, subscription and county access.
• To answer your questions through Scout AI. Your questions and the related property information are sent to our AI provider to generate answers.
• To communicate with you about your account, product updates and, where permitted, offers you can opt out of.
• To protect SheriffScout, our users and the public, and to comply with law.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run SheriffScout (such as hosting, database, authentication, email, payments and AI providers) under contracts that limit their use of it, with members of a team workspace you join, when required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are needed to sign you in and keep the service secure, and to remember preferences such as light or dark mode. We may use analytics to understand how the site is used.

Retention and security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.

Your choices

You can update your account information in the app, unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, and ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing support@sheriffscout.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law.

Children

SheriffScout is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we make material changes we will let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
